Asphalt Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Asphalt Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the repair, maintenance, and construction of asphalt surfaces. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in asphalt maintenance, including patching, sealing, crack filling, and other related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform asphalt maintenance tasks such as patching, sealing, crack filling, and pothole repair.
• Operate and maintain asphalt maintenance equipment including but not limited to asphalt pavers, rollers, seal coating machines, and crack sealing equipment.
• Prepare surfaces for asphalt repair by cleaning, sweeping, and applying appropriate materials.
• Assist in the layout and marking of asphalt surfaces for repair or construction.
• Mix and apply asphalt materials according to specifications and safety guidelines.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of asphalt materials and supplies.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work activities and ensure project deadlines are met.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in asphalt maintenance or construction preferred.
• Knowledge of asphalt materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to operate asphalt maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and specifications.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to Work weekends and overnights
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
